After leaving Microsoft so suddenly, Steven Sinofsky has been uncharacteristically quiet.
That is due to change as he has now launched a new blog called “Learning by Shipping” that will focus on general product development and management lessons. He promises to focus on the “intersection of engineering and social science”, so we should expect a continuation of the style he used in his Microsoft blog posts. He will be writing this blog whilst on sabbactical as an Executive in Residence at Harvard Business School, developing some course material, teaching some classes and doing some research.
In his introductory post he mentions that he won’t be focussing on his Microsoft experiences in any detail, rather picking topics from current industry events. This should make for a fascinating and though-provoking blog – it will be interesting to see if his (self-admitted unmoderated) blog comments manage to avoid being filled by Microsoft haters.
